Are you an experienced retail or hospitality leader looking for a role where commercial success

Village Greens — our community-owned organic supermarket and café in the heart of
Prestwich — is looking for an energetic, commercially minded, and values-driven Shop and Café
Manager to lead our store operations, champion our ethical mission, and drive sustainable
financial growth.
Reporting directly to our Board of Directors, you will hold ultimate accountability for our business strategy, financial performance, and people operations—supported closely by an Assistant Manager and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
What we are looking for:

Retail and Financial Management: Proven experience managing a shop or hospitality venue,
including budgeting, stock control, waste reduction, and driving gross profit metrics

People Leadership: Outstanding skills in motivating, training, and supporting a diverse
team of paid staff and passionate community volunteers of all backgrounds

Compliance Knowledge: Clear familiarity with UK retail/hospitality regulations (including
food safety standards) and UK employment frameworks

Strategic Thinker: Ability to analyze market trends, work closely alongside our Board of
Directors, and introduce new community initiatives.
