Happy 10th Birthday Village Greens

What an achievement. Village Greens has just celebrated its 10th birthday and what a decade it's been. In fact, if you head on over to the shop and admire the newly decorated window, you can see the whole journey mapped out by Myro Doodles, in her own unique style.

The celebrations brought together the folks of Village Greens from the past and present and it was somewhat of a reunion for staff, members and supporters alike.

Supporting the day were Funny Bunny Face Painting brightening the faces of kids, and a few grown ups!

The hugely popular Masa Bakery set up and queues soon formed. It was worth the wait though.

There was delicious vegan birthday cake from Black Cat Cakery which magically seemed to feed everyone there.

Musical entertainment came from the very talented duo from Martin Connor Music and Bury Fire Choir continued to draw huge crowds even when the rain started.

Finally there were speeches from the Village Greens Chair, David, who thanked everyone for their ongoing support, and shop manager, Chris, who talked of exciting things to come and very rightly said, Village Greens is not the building, it's the people and the community who made it, supported it and are still supporting it as it goes though its next transition.

I have loved being a part of the story of Village Greens as I'm sure many of the people reading this have too. It's a very special creation and Prestwich is extremely lucky to have it. Join me in wishing Village Greens much success in the future and I'm sure we all can't wait to see it grow and expand its reach and impact in Prestwich Village.

To finish, a little photo album of the day of some of the people whose passion has helped Village Greens reach this incredible milestone.

As always, thanks for reading
